### Alfred Hero - Interests in Statistical Inference and Learning

My interests in statistical inference and learning fall into four different
areas: development of estimator/detector independent lower bounds on
mean-square-error and other performance criteria; analyzing tradeoffs between
different error measures, e.g. tradeoffs between bias and variance and
tradeoffs between miss-classification and miss-detection probability;
implementation and convergence analysis of iterative maximimum likelihood
algorithms such as the EM algorithm, CFAR detection, and graph theoretic
approaches to non-parametric estimation and learning. Some of my recent
