Summary:	A general implementation scheme for CLP(X) is studied by designing a generic extension WAM(X) of the WAM. Based on the approach used in the WAM and PAM papers, a corresponding generic compilation scheme of CLP(X) programs to WAM(X) code is developed, obtaining also a mathematical correctness proof of the design.
