Location:

Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Room 3316
The University of Michigan
1301 Beal Ave
Ann Arbor, MI 48109-2122
U.S.A.

Airport:

Arrive at Detroit Metro Airport (DTW), which is approximately 30 miles (40 minutes) from U of M's North Campus.

Driving directions from airport to EECS:

  • From the airport, take I-94 West (toward Chicago) for about 18 miles to US-23 North to Exit 180B
  • Proceed north for about 6 miles to Plymouth Road to Exit 41
  • Travel west (turn left off the exit) on Plymouth Road to Murfin; there is a sign for the University of Michigan North Campus on the left
  • Turn left onto Murfin
  • Go through the first stop sign at the intersection of Murfin and Hubbard
  • Take the next left onto Hayward (no light or stop sign)
  • Turn into the third parking lot entrance on your right; This is the lot for the G.G.Brown Building, and almost straight ahead you will see a door labeled "West Entrance"
  • Park and go into the West Entrance
  • Immediately inside the building is the main office for Mechanical Engineering; Present yourself at at the reception desk and say that you are there to visit the Sensor Bus Lab in EECS. We will notify them ahead of time, so they should be expecting you.
  • They will give you a parking pass for your car; hang it on your rearview mirror facing out

Once you have your parking pass:

  • Go back through the G.G.Brown West Entrance.
  • Proceed straight down the hallway on the left of the Mechanical Engineering office
  • This hallway automatically turns left, then take the first right
  • At the end of this hallway is a door that says "Low Clearance", go through this door to enter the EECS Building's 3rd Floor
  • Follow this hallway, it will jog right, then left, then you will go over a bridge in the EECS Atrium
  • Just past the bridge on the left will be our lab in Room 3316!!

If you are not coming from the airport, take I-94 to US-23 North or M-14 to US-23 South, exit at Plymouth Road and follow the directions above.

The Holiday Inn North Campus is on the south side of Plymouth Road just west of US-23.  The Red Roof Inn is on the north side of the Plymouth Road.
