Procedure

The following is the procedure used by the Laboratory when testing a device.

The Conformance Test Policy that is tested against is available in the Documents section.
For full elaboration of each test, please refer to this document.

  1. Record device information and create DUT Information File.
Vendor, Part number, Revision, and any other relevant information will be recorded. Then, the DUT Information File will be created. This consists of the DUT IP Address, Unit Identifier, and SEMI Function Code support and is used during the Protocol Test. This is not required to be made before the test, it will be quickly generated by lab personnel.
  2. Connect DUT to the test network
The DUT will be supplied with power and connected to the Laboratory PC through a hub. Please check with the lab before assuming we are able to power your device. Once the DUT has established network connectivity, the tests will begin.
  3. PING Test
Test 7.2 of the Conformance Test Policy, the PING test, involves sending a PING request from the Lab PC. The DUT must properly respond.
  4. Protocol Test
The Protocol Tests will be performed by lab software. The DUT must properly respond to the requests from the Lab PC.
  5. Interoperability Test
The DUT will then be connected to our interoperability network. The description of this network is available in the Network section. The Interoperability Tests will then be performed, following Test 8. This takes one hour, during which, no errors should be found.
  6. Assessment of Pass/Fail Status
If the DUT has properly responded and performed according to the Conformance Test Policy, it will be given a "Pass," and will be compliant to the current Conformance Test Policy. If the DUT should fail any part of the test, the Lab will work with the vendor to acheive compliance.
