This class requires extensive readings of systems research papers. To help you with this and to ensure a productive discussion in class, you are asked to write a brief review for the required reading before the class, and submit the review through Gradescope.
You must use the provided review template to structure your review. Try to keep the complete review within one page.
If a paper has questions on the Schedule page, your review should answer these questions.
If there are two required papers in one lecture, you are normally required to review just one paper. However, you must still read all the required papers.
You are also encouraged to include in your review any questions you would like to see discussed in class.
Your reviews should not copy-paste large chunks of the paper's text. The interpretation, judgment, and personal reflection in the review must be your own. We encourage you to form a reading group to read the papers more effectively.
Copying reviews found on the Internet or from others is strictly prohibited. That will constitute a violation of the academic integrity policies.
You may use GenAI tools such as ChatGPT to help you understand a paper and to draft or revise your review. You remain responsible for understanding the paper, checking the accuracy of the review, and ensuring that the assessment reflects your own learning, experience, and judgment. A generic or fabricated personal reflection does not satisfy this requirement.
