AP Case Study Workshop Jan 24-25th 2005 at Georgia Tech

Materials for the AP Case Study Workshop

The Institute for Computing Education (ICE) at Georgia Tech will hold a 10 hour workshop on the AP case study Monday Jan 24th 5:00pm - 9:00pm and Tues Jan 25th from 8:00am - 2:00pm at the College of Computing at Georgia Tech. The workshop is free for public school teachers and cost $150 for private school teachers. Lunch is included on Saturday. We need to have at least 12 public school teachers registered in order to hold the workshop.

Private school teachers can e-mail ericson@cc.gatech.edu to register. Public school teachers should register on the GVSDC web-site http://www.gvsdc.org. The workshop number is GV05081 "Teaching the AP Case Study." You will find it listed in the "General Workshop" area of listings. Go to the web site and follow the instructions – depending on your status as a first time enrollee in the GVSDC system or as an "experienced" enrollee.

We will be covering the Marine Biology Case Study in depth. We will do this by using role-playing exercises, CRC cards, UML diagrams, programming exercises, sample test questions, and lecture. If you have questions that you want to make sure are covered be sure to e-mail them to Barb Ericson (ericson@cc.gatech.edu). We will also be using Alice Brady's Aquarium Lab Series, Karel J. Robot, and Turtle Graphics.

The closest parking is at the State Street Visitors Lot (between State and Atlantic on Ferst). This lot charges a maximum of $8.00 a day. Directions to the College of Computing Building are at http://www.cc.gatech.edu/external.affairs/directions-coc.html.
