• Developed the first symbolic differential equation solver. 1972.

• Choreographed "He Built a Crooked House", a Scottish country dance. In A Yankee Sampler, Cambridge, Mass: Royal Scottish Country Dance Society, Boston Branch, 1976.

• Acknowledged along with D. E. Knuth for independent discovery of a key improvement to the Boyer-Moore string searching algorithm, in R. S. Boyer and J S. Moore, A fast string searching algorithm, Communications of the ACM 20: 762-772, 1977.

• My father, Jack B. Kuipers, published a book, Quaternions and Rotation Sequences: A Primer with Applications to Orbits, Aerospace, and Virtual Reality, Princeton University Press, 1999. He was 78 years old.

• In 2008, my father had an asteroid named after him: Jackuipers.
