Salisbury, a convenient city on the way to Stonehenge with an impressive cathedral. The cathedral is a medieval cathedral with the tallest spire in England (and therefore the world). Unlike other European cathedral, the inside of this one is very light and airy:

See the hillock at the edge of town? That's the site of Old Sarum, where the cathedral was originally sited, next to the King's castle. The Abbot bristled under the King's thumb and moved the cathedral a couple miles to the present site.
