BME 500 - Fall 2006 - Course Web Site

Lectures:

Wed:  3:30-4:30, HH Dow 1013

Course Description:

This is the main graduate student seminar for the Department of Biomedical Engineering.  We will explore various BME subdisciplines with the goal of exposing students to research going on in biomedical engineering at U-M and at other institutions and providing a view into the breadth of the field of biomedical engineering.

Administrative Matters:

Attendance will be taken at each class meeting.  One unexcused absence is allowed.

Each student is required to write a 5-10 page, double-spaced paper on a topic (or multiple related topics) presented in class.  Student should research the topic using web resources, library reading, etc.  At least one scientific (journal) article should be read as part of report preparation and this article should be cited in write-up.  Students should contract speakers to be pointed to reference materials, if necessary, or to get clarifications on readings.

The paper is must be handed in during class or placed Prof. Noll’s mailbox in Gestracker 1107, under the door of Gerstacker 1119, or sent by e-mail to dnoll@umich.edu by 5 pm on 12/20/06.

Grading will be Satisfactory/Unsatifactory.
