I am Mert D. Pesé, a final-year PhD Candidate in the Real-Time Computing Laboratory (RTCL) at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor.
My research interests primarily include the security and privacy of vehicles. I worked on Automotive Ethernet Security and Intrusion Detection Systems during positions I held before my PhD. I am the lead developer of LibreCAN, a framework to automatically reverse engineer the CAN bus. Currently, I am focusing on privacy attacks and defenses of vehicular data to protect drivers' personal information, as well as novel and feasible solutions to secure the CAN bus, vehicle-to-vehicle communication and Android Automotive.
