June 15-19 2009 Explorers – Explorers – PicoCrickets, Lego robots, and Scratch 308 CoC (rising 4-5th) - Christopher
June 22-26 2009 – Adventurers- LEGO NXT and Alice 308 CoC(rising 6-8th) - Christopher
July 6-10 2009 – Explorers – PicoCrickets, Lego robots, and Scratch 308 CoC (rising 4-5th) - Christopher
July 13-17 2009 – Adventurers - Scratch and PicoCrickets 308 CoC(rising 6-8th) - Jacob

Description for RoboCup Jr June 8-12th (for rising 6th+)
Would you like to create a robot that can win a dance competition? Would you like to create a robot that can search for victims and navigate around obstacles? These are just two of the events at RoboCup Jr. which is an international competition that was held at Georgia Tech in the summer of 2007. In this camp you will build and program LEGO NXT robots for an end of camp competition like the RoboCup Jr competition. For more information on RoboCup Jr see http://rcj.sci.brooklyn.cuny.edu
Description for ICE session June 15-19th (for rising 9th+)
Would you like to make a movie using robots as the actors and as the camera? Would you like to learn to program special effects like the kind you see in the movies? In this session we will program Paralax robots that have a color camera to make our own movies and learn how to do special effects like chrormakey in the programming language Python. You will learn some of what we teach in our introductory computing courses at Georgia Tech for both majors and non-majors. For more information see http://www.roboteducation.org/
Description for Explorers session June 15-19th (for rising 4-5th)
Would you like to create a simple animation? Would you like to make a sculpture that moves faster when you get louder? Would you like to program a LEGO robot to follow a line or do a dance? In this session you will be introduced to programming using Scratch, LEGO RIS and/or NXT robots, and PicoCrickets. For more information on Scratch see http://scratch.mit.edu. Description for Adventurers session June 22-26th (rising 6-8th)
Would you like to be the director of a 3D movie? Would you like to program a robot to help you enter a Mayan temple? In this session you will use free software from CMU called Alice to allow you to make 3D animations and simple games. And, you will use LEGO NXT robots to solve a series of challenges. Description for Adventurers session July 6-10th (rising 6-8th)
If you have had some experience with Scratch and/or Alice then this is the session for you. You will go beyond the basics in both Scratch and Alice to create more complex animations and games. Description for Adventurers session July 13-17th (rising 6-8th)
Would you like to create an interactive story? Would you like to make a musical pickle? Would you like to see how fast you react to a sound or a light? You will use free software from MIT called Scratch to create 2D animations and games. You will use PicoCrickets to make digital arts and crafts that react to sound, light, and touch. Would you like to make a 3D game or movie? Would you like to program a LEGO NXT robot to play games?
