The slides that were shown are at: http://coweb.cc.gatech.edu/ice-gt/449.

The Institute for Computing Education (ICE) at the Georgia Institute of Technology is pleased to offer a Teaching Java with Multi-Media workshop September 16, 2006 from 10:00am - 4:30pm. The workshop will explain how to cover introductory computing concepts using multi-media projects such as: class, object, method, variable, iteration, conditional execution, and arrays. It will give teachers ways to integrate this approach in their classes. This is a follow-up workshop to the Beginning Programming in Java summer workshop. This workshop will be in room 104A of the College of Computing Building (not room 107 as we have been in for past workshops). The closest parking is at the State Street Visitors Lot (between State and Atlantic on Ferst). This lot charges a maximum of $8.00 a day. Directions to the College of Computing Building are at http://www.cc.gatech.edu/external.affairs/directions-coc.html.

Teachers who complete the workshop and an additional 4 hours of activities will receive 1 PLU credit recommendation.

Thanks to a grant from the Toyota Foundation we can offer a stipend of $200.00 for the first 25
Georgia Public School teachers who attend the full workshop and complete the additional 4 hours of outside work. For your outside work you can create lesson plans, worksheets, or tests and upload them to the swiki. Please e-mail me when you have done this.

Teachers must have some Java experience to take this workshop!

To apply send e-mail to Barbara Ericson (ericson@cc.gatech.edu). You do not have to register on GVSDC.
