Getting Started With App Inventor Using Xylophone

There is a free online book for learning App Inventor from Dave Wobler at http://www.appinventor.org

As a way to introduce App Inventor have the participants download the source ("xylophone.zip") for the Xylophone app from the free book.


  1. Go to http://www.appinventor.org/xylophone-steps.

  2. Click on Download the Source This will download a zip file to your computer. Keep track of where you put the file on your computer.

  3. Go to http://beta.appinventor.mit.edu to start App Inventor.

  4. Click on My Projects to go to your list of projects.
    5. Click on More Actions and then Upload Source. Click on Choose File and browse to find the "xylophone.zip" file that you downloaded. Then click on OK.
