Build a goalie that tries to block a shot, a ball kicker that automatically kicks the ball when it gets close, or an alligator that tries to chomp on anything in its mouth with the LEGO WeDo kit which has LEGO parts, a motor, and sensors. Program your creation using free software called Scratch by just snapping blocks together to tell the computer what to do. See http://coweb.cc.gatech.edu/ice-gt/1475 for more information.
