Tips for teaching with Scratch
- Start by having students modify or add to existing Scratch projects
- Have students work in groups (this can especially help motivate students and if you pair a weaker student with a stronger student make the weaker one control the keyboard)
- Do a variety of projects in Scratch: stories, games, music, dances, art, etc
- Allow students to be creative
- Do projects where the students get to work with their own pictures, music, stories, etc - one example is having them show you what happens to them in the morning
- Have students show off their projects to each other - include the principal if possible
