Administrator Webinars

A recent report, "Running on Empty: The Failure to Teach Computer Science in the Digital Age" details how the U.S. has fallen behind in preparing students with the fundamental computer science knowledge and skills that they will need to succeed in the 21st century (for more information see http://csta.acm.org/runningonempty/).

At this meeting you will receive information about:

•The state of computer science education at the K-12 level in Georgia and the nation
•ICE programs which include teacher workshops, student summer camps, a lending library, webinars, competitions, Cool Computing Day field trips, and more
•How to train teachers to teach the Advanced Placement Computer Science A course
•How to apply for Operation Reboot which retrains unemployed IT workers to be high school computing teachers. This program pays for an IT worker to co-teach in 2 computing classes/sections for one year while he/she earns an initial teaching certificate. The program also pays for books for the co-taught courses.
