Robotics and Music! Mechanical, Programmable Music Makers!
In this workshop students will build Robots using the Lego NXT Mindstorms kit that will play musical instruments such as drums, xylophones and "boomwhackers" (Pitched Percussion Tubes). We will cover concepts ranging from Simple Machines, Building Techniques, Motor Programming, and MyBlocks (reusable code).
Objectives:
Students will design and construct Robots that will strike or activate Pitched and Non-Pitched Percussion Instruments
Students will write NXT-G programs that direct the robots to play melodies on the percussion instruments.
Students will use "MyBlocks" to create reusable patterns of code to have their robots perform longer melodic and rhythmic patterns.
