Cathy Black Roberts
Week-long workshop learning skills and teaching techniques to be used in the Computer in the Modern World class. I will be teaching this class in the upcoming school year at Woodstock High School. What I have learned:
- Activities to introduce the concepts of binary, networking and programming logic
- SCRATCH programming.
- Alice programming
- programming using Pico Cricket and Legos!
Lots of collaborative activities. I worked closely with another teacher at WHS (Isobel) and Wing and Peg.
Isobel and I created a cool Alice program a la 'Jaws'. Below is a snapshot of one of our scenes.
