Nov 21 - Learning Computing Concepts with Greenfoot
The Institute for Computing Education (ICE) is proud to host a Greenfoot workshop on Saturday, November 21, 2009 from 8:30am - 3:30pm at Georgia Tech. Teachers must attend the entire workshop and do 4 hours of additional work to get 1 PLU. All teachers must register at ?. Please bring a laptop if you have one, or notify us if you need to borrow a laptop. This workshop will take place in the Klaus Advanced Computing Building, room 1456.
Teachers will build 2D simulations and games in Greenfoot. Greenfoot is free software for teaching how to program in Java (see http://www.greenfoot.org). This material can be used in Beginning Programming, Intermediate Programming, or Advanced Placement Computer Science A.
There is no fee for this workshop for Georgia teachers. We will also be able to cover hotel, parking, and food for Georgia teachers who live greater than 30 miles from Georgia Tech for Friday night. Guests will be staying with two teachers per room, unless you wish to pay an additional cost for a private room. We will also cover lunch for all teachers. Space is limited to 30.
