Question: What would be the "Note name" for the black keys?

I'm guessing you mean the black keys on a piano. I am by no means music-savvy but I believe those are sharps and flats. I would check out JMusic Constants and look at the Pitch section.

Question: Can you transform a song that already exists into java or do you have to make your own?

I think it's best to just use the existing SongPhrases as a guide to creating your own phrase(s). Dawn Finney.

Question: There's an example in the powerpoint that creates a song (with parts) using SongNodes, and I compiled that

code and it worked, I heard the song. But when I try to make a song with parts using SongNode I get a nullpointer exception. Any ideas?|
