Answer to number of horses

There are 28 animals total.

Let's assume each animal is a chicken to see how many legs that gives us
28 chickens with 2 legs per chicken is 56.

But the total number of legs is 72. So some of the animals must be horses.
Each horse will have two additional legs. So 72 - 56 is the number of extra
legs we need which is 16. Each horse has two more legs than each chicken so we
need to make 8 of the animals horses.

We have 8 horses with 4 legs = 32 legs
We have 28-8 chickens which is 20 chickens with 2 legs each = 40 legs
32 + 40 = 72
