This workshop is for teachers who either took the Beginning Programming and Systems Workshop in the Summer of 2004 or 2005 or who have experience in a programming language such as Visual Basic, C++, C#, or Java. You are not required to stay residential for this workshop. However, if you are from outside of the Atlanta area Georgia Tech will cover your hotel and meals. You will be staying at the Georgia Tech Hotel with 2 teachers per room unless you wish to pay for the additional cost of a private room (an additional $62.00 a night).
.

The schedule for the workshop is:
10-5 Mon June 26 (7 hours)
8-4:00 Tues June 27 (8 hours)
10-5 Thurs July 6 (7 hours)
8-4:00 Friday July 7th (8 hours)

Teachers who attend the entire workshop will earn 3 PLUs.

We will cover working with sound, graphics, movies, and games. We will talk about Java syntax, iteration, and conditionals. We will cover class and object variables (fields) and methods. We will also cover object-oriented principles: objects, classes, encapsulation, inheritance, polymorphism.

This course should prepare you to be able to take the College Board AP workshop either the same summer or the next summer. You should only take it the same summer if you have taught Java for one year or more.
