Pure Genius STEM expo - 2011

The Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta is very excited that you will be joining us for the inaugural Pure Genius STEM Expo on Saturday, October 29. As of this morning, we have surpassed our goal of 500 preregistrations. We could be serving as many as 1,000 children the day of the event.

Thank you all for your dedication and willingness to share your time and talents with the Girl Scouts! Below is a summary of the day’s activities and more detailed instructions concerning driving directions, parking and loading/unloading. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions.

STEM Expo Exhibitor Confirmation

Date: Saturday, October 29, 2011
Time: 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Location: Georgia World Congress Center Building A - Room A 411/412, 285 Andrew Young International Blvd., NW, Atlanta, Georgia 30313-1591
Target Audience: 1000 children ages 5-17 and their families.

Overview of the Day (Subject to change)
8:00 a.m. – 9:45 a.m. - Exhibitor Set-Up
10:00 a.m. – Doors open to the public and all exhibitor activities begin
10:30 a.m. - Kick-off/ Welcome Speech
11:00 a.m. – Girl Challenge Activity
12:15 p.m. – Guest Presenter, The Power of Air Demonstration
1:15 p.m. - Girl Challenge
2:15 p.m. - Guest Presenter, Liquid Nitrogen Demonstration
3:15 p.m. - Girl Challenge
3:45 p.m. - Closing Remarks
4:00 p.m. – Event ends

Driving Directions:
Unloading: Attached is a map of the Georgia World Congress Center. The STEM Expo will be held in Building A which is adjacent to Phillips Arena/CNN Center. You are welcome to unload items outside of Building A. We will do our best to have volunteers available to assist you. If you have larger items, please feel free to use the loading dock.
Loading Dock Driving Directions:
Event Parking: There is parking at the World Congress Center in the Green Parking Lot or Red Parking Deck for $10. There are additional parking lots nearby.
Exhibitor set-up/take down will begin at 8:00 a.m. Take down will begin at 4:00 p.m.
Materials/Banners: We encourage you to bring signs, promotional items and materials, banners, give aways, etc. The only restriction is that the Georgia World Congress Center prohibits us from affixing any items to the walls.
