Before each workshop
During each workshop

15 minutes:
Explain each of the 3 challenges from the Mayan Adventure books to the girls:

Tunnel challenge: the robot needs to go foward until it sees the wall (with the ultrasonic sensor) and then turn left, then it goes forward again until it sees the next wall (again with the ultrasonic sensor) and then it should to forward till it sees another wall and stop in the red square for 30 seconds and then find its way back out of the tunnel. The book has plans for a robot for this challenge or you can use the normal robot that you usually build with the education kit and add an ultrasonic sensor.

Scroll challenge: the robot needs to move forward until it finds the scroll and then grad it and bring it back out. The book has instructions for building this robot.

String challenge: the robot needs to move along the string until the middle and drop a ball in a vase (or a box).

If the girls have not done the follow a black line using the light sensor they should start with that. Have them do challenges 16 and 17 in the robot educator and then try the RoboCup Jr. course or try an easier to follow a black line on a foam core board.

3.5 hours.
Girls build and program one of the robots to solve one of the challenges. Take video and pictures. If they get one done they can try to do another.

Last 15 minutes:
Do the post-surveys!
