Bert Kay

Herbert Kay received his PhD in Computer Sciences from the University of Texas at Austin in December 1996. He took a research position at NASA Ames Research Center.

Tragically, on June 12, 1997, Bert was killed in a random act of violence in Palo Alto, California. He left his wife Meg, two-year-old twin daughters Sonia and Nina, and a large group of family and friends. He left a significant body of scientific work and the unfulfilled promise of further contributions to the world, both personal and professional.
