About Me

I am a postdoctoral researcher at the EECS department, University of Michigan, working with Prof. Laura Balzano. Before this, I was a Ph.D. student at ECE department Rutgers University mentored by Prof. Waheed Bajwa. Before joining Rutgers, I obtained Masters's and Bachelors's degrees in Electrical engineering from NUST, Pakistan. My research interests revolve around developing efficient algorithms for statistical learning problems. More specifically, I use tools from optimization, numerical linear algebra, and probability theory to design efficient algorithms for solving statistical learning problems (e.g., PCA, dictionary learning, and tensor decompositions) in a variety of practical scenarios (e.g., streaming and distributed data).
