As a result of changes in the Electrical Engineering curriculum, please use the following special rules to enroll in these courses for Fall, 2006:

I can only go on the waitlist! What do I do?

Get yourself onto the waitlist! The EECS Department has a very good record of opening sections when necessary and getting students into required and core classes. We cannot make guarantees, but we try very hard to never turn away students from required and core elective classes. However, the only way we can gauge the need is if you go on the waitlist.

For EECS 215:

The new prerequisites are: Math 116 or its various equivalents, Eng 101, and a co-requisite of Physics 240 or 260.

If you  meet these new perquisites, then you can enroll in EECS 215 for the fall. If you have not taken Physics 240 or 260, register for this first, then print your schedule and come to the Undergraduate Advising Office (3415 EECS). Give us your printed schedule; we will issue a Permission for you to enroll in EECS215. Please write your name and student ID on your Wolverine Access printout.

For EECS 230:

EECS 230 now has EECS 215 as a prerequisite.  So,

IF you are going to enroll in EECS 230 for the Fall, you must have EECS 215 finished by August, 2006,

SO, you must take EECS 215 in the Spring here at UM

OR take a course that transfers in as EECS 215 from another university

OTHERWISE you will be disenrolled from EECS 230 for not having 215.

For EECS 306:

IF you want to take the last offering of EECS 306 in the Fall AND, will not have EECS 215 finished by Winter, 2006,

THEN you may take them together this Fall term.  You must enroll for EECS 215 first, then print your schedule and come to the Undergraduate Advising Office (3415 EECS). Give us your printed schedule; we will issue a Permission for you to enroll in 306.

Please write your name and student ID on your Wolverine Access printout.

For EECS 311 and/or 312:

The prerequisite of EECS 320 has been removed from these courses and the prerequisite of EECS 215 has been ADDED.  So,

IF you want to take either EECS 311 or 312, AND will NOT have finished EECS 320 by Winter, 2006,

THEN You must bring an unofficial transcript showing you are in or have taken (EECS 206 and EECS 215); we will give you a permission for either 311 or 312.  Please write your name and student ID on your Wolverine Access printout.

ALSO, IF you have NOT completed EECS 215 prior August 2006, you will be disenrolled from 311/312 for not having 215

(this one sounds weird, but its correct, we need proof of 206 and 215 in lieu of 320)

For EECS 320:

EECS 320 now requires EECS 215 as a prerequisite (in addition to Physics).  So,

IF you are going to enroll in EECS 320 for the Fall (and beyond) you must have already taken EECS 215

OTHERWISE you will be disenrolled from EECS 320 for not having 215.
