I'm currently a
PhD candidate in the Software Systems Group, Computer Science and
Engineering Division at the University of Michigan. My supervisor is Dr Atul Prakash.
I'm primarily interested in security including,
but not limited to, malware polymorphism, propagation, attack vectors
and covert channels. Security is an interesting research field because
you often find yourself in unknown territories. I like to
approach the security problems more from the attacker's point of view,
rather than defender's. As what Sun Tzu said, "Know thy self,
know thy enemy. A thousand battles fought, a thousand victories."
Prior
to my enrollment to the University of Michigan, I worked as a Security
Software R&D
engineer in Singapore. My job scope included penetration
testing, security software analysis and malware analysis.s
